Marilyn Manson Injured In Stage Accident

Marilyn Manson was injured during his show on Saturday night (September 30th) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City when a stage prop collapsed on top of him. According to multiple reports, Manson was motionless for several minutes as crew members lifted the prop — two large guns mounted on a scaffold — off his body. He was taken out on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. The concert was ended after a brief delay and it was announced on Sunday (October 1st) that the next nine dates of Manson’s tour would be canceled so that the singer could recuperate at home in Los Angeles. At press time, the severity of Manson’s injuries was unclear. The run of shows from October 2nd in Boston through October 14th in Houston have been scrapped and will be rescheduled, with the tour now slated to resume on October 15th in Grand Prairie, Texas. The incident occurred roughly an hour into Manson’s concert, just the third date on the North American leg of Manson’s Heaven Upside Down tour. During “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These),” Manson made his way toward the back of the stage, where the prop suddenly fell forward onto him. The incident followed a show on Friday (September 29th) in Pittsburgh during which Manson tumbled off the stage. After pulling himself back up, he told the crowd he broke his ankle. Manson’s tour is scheduled to run through the end of this month if it resumes on the 15th. The Heaven Upside Down album is due for release on Friday (October 6th).
